One of my close friends in CUHK left yesterday, which made me feel a little bit down all day. There is no promise of the day when we can see each other again and time is supposed to be measured by the unit of year , like what happened to my collegemates. I will miss him and cherish the memeories with this nice guy, but no matter what, l wish that there is a promising propect for his courage and he will be blessed with his great talent and diligence.

What is lasik?

Lasik is a type of surgery that's meant to correct vision problems. It's a great service for some people, who end up with improved vision and no need for glasses. But some lasik ads have hyped what can be done or have provided misleading price information. When information is solid, the choices and pricing can still be confusing.

The procedure concentrates on the cornea -- the clear, thin surface layer that helps focus light that enters the eye. For many people who don't see well, the light isn't focusing at the right location inside the eye.

During lasik, the surgeon cuts a thin flap in the cornea and then folds the flap to the side. Then, using a laser, the doctor reshapes the cornea underneath the opening. The flap is then laid back in place and the cornea heals without the use of stitches. Lasik is short for "laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis."

Different approaches to the procedure have emerged in recent years. Wavefront-guided lasik uses a diagnostic technology that allows for more customized correction of the eye. With all-laser lasik, surgeons use a laser, sold by IntraLase Corp., rather than a blade, to cut the flap -- a technique some surgeons believe reduces the risk of complications. Both options can increase the cost of getting lasik.

Who is, or isn't, a good candidate for lasik?

In 2005, about 1.3 million lasik procedures were performed in the U.S., according to Market Scope LLC, a market-research firm focused on eye surgery that is based outside St. Louis.

Lasik candidates should be at least 18 years old, according to the Food and Drug Administration, and they typically shouldn't have needed a substantial change in their glasses or contact lens prescription in the past year or two. If you undergo lasik while your prescription is still changing, your vision could eventually lose some of the gains it made from the procedure.

It can be risky to undergo lasik if your corneas are thin, since tissue is removed from the cornea during the procedure. Also, a minority of patients may be too near- or farsighted for the procedure, since too much tissue may need to be removed.

Here are some other issues that can keep patients from being considered good candidates for lasik: dry eyes; a disease such as rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes that could affect proper healing; a history of certain eye diseases. Women who are pregnant or nursing are also often advised not to get the procedure.

Would lasik really fix my vision?

According to the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, a professional society of ophthalmologists, the vast majority of patients with low- to-moderate nearsightedness end up with 20/40 vision or better, and many achieve 20/20 or better. The society cautions that there's still a chance patients will need glasses or contact lenses for at least some activities after the surgery.

今天和一些北大的同学聚了一下，不断认识新朋友的时候，曾经熟悉的旧朋友又要渐渐离开了。 不断变换风景的旅程里，究竟我们点缀了别人的生活还是别人插曲在我们的生命中呢？究竟是应该执意的追逐那些陪伴自己到终点的永远还是每一个穿插在生命里配角其实都比那些无意义的追逐更有重量呢？

看着年长的师兄师姐们的生活，也感觉着自己可能的未来轨迹， 不能说不甘心，却充斥着一些遗憾吧。规矩顺利的未来也许真的是放弃了曾经的梦想和辉煌后平静的美好吧，只是不知道自己想要什么，其实也是很无奈的事情。

心情很糟糕的一天，又被骗了一次以后，我总觉得自己应该有点自觉了，否则死了也不值得可惜。原来每个人都很不简单的，而我在一厢情愿地保护别人的时候，其实也许人家有着对自己人生更好的驾驭，然后我就变得很可笑了。信任是很高贵和珍贵的情感，不应该随意使用的，特别在年纪渐长之后的交往里。

 

在这个感情越来越廉价和快餐的时代，我突然有种恐惧的感觉， 原来成人的世界里感情也许真的是用来消费的，只是看大家是不是各取所需而已，虽然现实迅速，却也冷酷的让人不寒而栗。
